The University of Edinburgh

"Welcome to this website. It sets out basic information on the new Masters programme in Advanced Architectural Design at the University of Edinburgh. As you will find from our ‘invitation’, the programme has been devised in response to a specific set of contemporary issues. You will also find, in the ‘5 spaces’ and ‘Curriculum’ pages, that participants in the programme will examine these issues through a broad, but precisely circumscribed methodological outlook. The programme is intended to offer opportunities to investigate demanding contemporary issues through a speculative and theoretically informed mode of design. I hope you enjoy reading the material on the following pages. Please get in touch (s.cairns@ed.ac.uk) if you have further questions on the programme.by Stephen Cairns" to find out more...

Since that time, students we have counselled, have been able to take up degree studies at every university in Britain, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Working with education institutions in Malaysia, MABECS has counselled many thousands of Malaysians, and helped them to find the most suitable courses and universities for their further studies.
Our counsellors have all been educated in the UK and so are able to give first hand information on life, study and work in Britain." to find out more...

Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, University College London

"The MSc Built Environment: Advanced Architectural Studies (AAS) at the Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, University College London, brings together within a single theoretical and analytical framework known as space syntax, the study of architecture from the scale of buildings to entire citiesThe course is built around the idea that by studying buildings and cities as patterns of space, we can derive wholly new insights into the relations between them and the individuals, communities and organisations that inhabit them. The MSc AAS course is closely linked to the Space Syntax Laboratory, one of the world's leading architecture research groups, and part of the Bartlett's 'SPACE' research group, one of the world's leading architecture reserach groups, which was flagged at the top international 5* level in the last UK Research Assessment Exercise. It is also takes advantage of a close working relationship with Space Syntax Limited , a UCL technology transfer consulting company. MSc AAS staff are actively involved in fundamental and applied research, as well as the application of research to design through consultancy projects with leading architectural and urban design practitioners from the UK and overseas. It is this research that drives the development of the theoretical and analytic techniques that form the basis of the taught content of the course. Over the past decade, the Space Syntax Laboratory and Space Syntax Limited have worked on major projects with some of the world's leading architects, including Norman Foster, Richard Rogers, Terry Farrell, Rick Mather and Zaha Hadid.
